Why KastKing’s Multi-Color Reel Series Is a Win
By now you probably have seen KastKing’s new line of baitcasters. They are the Royale Legend Elite reels that boast an impressive 11 + 1 ball bearings, 17.6 lbs. of drag, a 10-level brake system plus more all in a saltwater ready body for the very good price of $70-75.
I think so too. KastKing is #1 when it comes to creating quality products at an affordable price and I would stand by the brand any day when discussing them with others.
But that’s not what impresses me the most about this series of reels. It’s the color coordination!
Ok let’s back up a bit. I like my rods and reels to match and look good together. It just helps with my psyche. Makes me fish better (We can discuss this debatable topic in another article).
So colored reels are usually a no go for me because that aqua green color looks like a hot mess paired with my black and red rod. It would drive me crazy!
But I am willing to look the other way when color helps me become more efficient. Which is the case with the Royal Legend Elite Reels.
KastKing Royale Legend Elite baitcasters are available in four colors matched to four specific gear ratios: white is 5.3:1, blue 6.6:1, black 7.3:1 and red is 8.1:1. By being color coded you can quickly determine which set-ups are for what and select the right one for the situation.
I can think of many reasons when this is helpful, but here are a few…
- Fishing at night or in low light conditions
- Rigging on the water or the night before
- When wanting to slow or speed up a retrieval on the water
I never want to guess or pick up multiple set-ups before finding the right one. And yes, its not the end of the world to do so but why not be more efficient when you can. It saves you time and hassle which could make your day of fishing more enjoyable.
Sure. It’s not for everyone, however I do believe it is something you can consider.
Honestly, I don’t think it will be long before other brands follow suit. But in the meantime, check out the KastKing line up. You will be very impressed. Trust me.
